HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING (HIIT)

About This Class

High-intensity interval training (HIIT), also called high-intensity intermittent exercise (HIIE), or METCONs is an enhanced form of interval training, an exercise strategy alternating periods of short intense anaerobic exercise with less-intense recovery periods. HIIT is a form of cardiovascular exercise. Usual HIIT sessions may vary from 4–30 minutes. These short, intense workouts provide improved athletic capacity and condition, improved glucose metabolism, and improved fat burning.

Little Sweatshop offers programming for all levels of fitness and ability. Every day a new workout will be posted. There will be three levels to perform that workout at (fitness, conditioning and competition). Depending on the level you are at, you choose the workout specific to you, thus eliminating intimidation and maximizing your workout to make the most gains.

The programming will develop your strength through resistance training and Olympic lifting, your speed and agility, your endurance and conditioning, gymnastics movements and things you never thought you’d be able to do….all while having fun in a safe environment. Small class sizes allow the coaches to work personally with you to make sure you aren’t getting injured and that you are working to your full potential.

This program is for EVERYONE.

FITNESS – for the athlete who is new to HIIT or the person who is just incorporating this training in to be fit and healthy, for a better life.

CONDITIONING – for the athlete who is comfortable pushing their bodies to a difficult level of training and wishes to advance to heavier weight and more challenging movements.

COMPETITION – for the athlete who is looking to develop their strengths, skills and conditioning to a higher level in preparation for competing.
